HI! I'M JESSIE
I was first exposed to American Sign Language and Deaf culture while attending Brighton High School. I fell in love with the language and culture and knew it was something I would like to continue to learn. After finishing three years of ASL in high school, I began to take classes at SLCC and the University of Utah. I transferred to UVU in the Spring of 2017 to pursue a Bachelors of Arts in Deaf Studies with the ASL/Spoken English Interpreting Emphasis.
I have passed the Utah State Knowledge Exam and the NIC Knowledge Exam. I plan on continuing my interpreting practice to become nationally certified. My goal is to one day be a child psychiatrist who can work one on one with Deaf children and within the Deaf community.
